Overcoming Stage Fright with Hypnosis and Energy Psychology
One of the worst psychological disorders affecting many professionals is known as stage fright. What makes this fear particularly harmful is hat the internally generated response to the fear is greatly out of proportion to the actual danger that a person faces when presenting in public.
Say, for instance, that you're afraid of flying. You can rationally argue that there is a certain probability of hitting bad turbulence, engine problems, or any other problem that could result in a crash. But with performance anxiety or stage fright, there is usually no actual danger at all.
That said, the funny thing about anxieties is that they can't be killed through rational discussion. No matter how much logic you try to apply to the problem, it just won't change the gut-wrenching response that you feel, as someone who suffers from such an anxiety. Why is this? Because the response you feel is kinaesthetic rather than one based on logic. This results in a highly unpleasant and very powerful physiological shift created by the flooding of stress chemicals in your bloodstream. Specifically, epinephrine and cortisol.
The poor person experiences a gamut of horrendous feelings and symptoms; dry mouth, shaky hands, weak legs, pounding heart, and feelings of dissociation, and even panic, being typical.
No matter how strong your developed response might be in a situation when you're on stage, it is possible to dramatically reduce or even eliminate completely the terror and stress. You can replace these feelings with empowerment and elation. Even if you are highly anxious and reluctant to speak you can make fast and effective improvements in both your skill set and how you feel while you're presenting.
There are a number of effective methodologies in the modern psychotherapeutic arsenal that have an excellent success rate against stage fright, and all sorts of performance anxiety.
When I had my own private practice, many years ago, I extensively used hypnotherapy, which is a very old discipline. But I also made use of newer "power therapies" such as NLP New Code, EFT, and Be Set Free Fast. These latter two are energy psychology therapies.
Hypnosis, is an excellent means of dealing with stage fright, inasmuch as it permits a skilled therapist to both rewrite the subject's negative past, and build in a more resourceful future. With good trance work, we can access and transform problematic states and fix problems at the unconscious level.
Energy psychology is a different method of erasing negative feelings that might be holding you back from greatness. Once this erasing process is done, it's a simple matter of installing better, more empowering beliefs, while creating resourceful states. This transforms your past problem into a current and future pleasure. Often, only one session is needed.
